Michael is an executive director in the EY-Parthenon practice of Ernst & Young LLP, based in Boston, and is a member of its software practice group. Michael was originally with Bulger Partners, which joined EY in 2018. He provides deep knowledge in product and technology diligence projects and leverages 20 years of experience in software engineering and enterprise architecture to optimize software products’ technology stacks creating efficiencies, maximizing functionality and minimizing infrastructure performance risks.
Michael has spent the last decade as an executive, entrepreneur, board member and advisor with high-tech companies. He has worked within and acted as an advisor to a broad range of software and software-driven companies, including enterprise systems and data center management, health care management software, telecommunications and high-speed networking, integrated financial trading systems, mobile device management, governance, risk, compliance management, IaaS and PaaS.
Prior to Bulger Partners, Michael has held CTO roles at several companies, including Cyrus Innovation, a leading agile software consultancy in NYC. A veteran of both large enterprises such as Cisco Systems and CA Technologies as well as a number of start-ups, Michael has experience driving innovation in a spectrum of working environments. As a member of CA Technologies’ Council for Technical Excellence, he mentored the next generation of software engineers in proven agile and iterative development methodologies.
Michael holds numerous patents in the United States, ranging from remote telemedicine systems, to IT risk management systems, to mobile device management technologies. Michael’s work has been published in Linux Journal and the journals of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Association for Computing Machinery.
Michael holds degrees in Electrical and Software Engineering from the University of Alabama and Concordia College.
