EY Acquisition of OC&C Strategy Consultants Benelux

Today EY Netherlands is announcing the acquisition of OC&C Strategy Consultants Benelux (OC&C Benelux). The acquisition is a distinctive step for EY in further developing world-class strategy services capabilities. EY strengthens its organization with all 59 employees of OC&C Benelux, including 6 partners, joining EY’s Transaction Advisory Services to operate under the EY-Parthenon brand.

OC&C Benelux, incorporated in 1992 and headquartered in Rotterdam, specializes in strategic consulting services for large and mid-market organizations, private equity firms, governmental entities and other public institutions. OC&C Benelux has extensive experience in developing and executing corporate and business unit strategy, delivering M&A strategy and supporting private equity due diligence. Its client base is highly diversified and operates at the upscale end of the market in various sectors.

OC&C Benelux will become part of EY-Parthenon. EY-Parthenon — a global strategy consultancy with 900 professionals in more than 30 offices — was formed when The Parthenon Group joined EY in late 2014. OC&C Strategy Consultants International is unaffected by this transaction and will continue to operate globally from its 14 offices worldwide.

Coen Boogaart, Chairman of EY Netherlands says: ”Like the earlier acquisitions of i3 and Montesquieu, this acquisition strengthens EY’s ambitions to further develop our position as a market leader. It allows usto take a major step forward in building a distinctive brand in strategy services to better respond to clients seeking international growth opportunities.”

Stephan Lauers, partner of Transaction Advisory Services comments: “With OC&C Benelux’s specialists, we continue to expand our strategy services team in the Netherlands and reinforce our role as boardroom advisor on the challenges and issues of our clients’ capital agenda.”

Pieter Witteveen, Managing Partner at OC&C Benelux says: ”Becoming part of an international organization with the scale and depth of EY brings greater European coverage and increased growth perspectives both locally and internationally. This will benefit our clients and will offer unique career opportunities to our professionals. As the culture of our firms is highly comparable, we believe the combination will be a perfect fit.”

The acquisition is completed as of today, and OC&C Benelux will operate under the EY-Parthenon brand, and will no longer operate under the brand of OC&C, which continues to be owned by OC&C International.
